The Sumitomo Touring LS T is a tire built for a couple reasons, and a couple reasons only...long life and and good comfort. It is designed to fit a wide range of vehicles and is available in a few dozen sizes to accommodate cars, minivans, and crossovers. Sumitomo decided on going with a fine grain carbon tread compound geared for long treadlife. The tread pattern itself is nothing to write home about and overall it's a pretty run of the mill tire from and engineering standpoint.
Reviews on the Touring LS T are mixed to say the least. When compared to other tires in this performance category, it ranks right above the middle of the pack. So there are certainly better tires out there. Considering that Sumitomo bills this tire as a 'long life' tire, I am a little bit disappointed the mileage that drivers are getting out of a set. Most will see around 60,000 miles before they need to be replaced, which considering the traction you give up by going with this tire, that number seems low. However since you can usually find a good deal on these tires, I'd say that for the money, these present at least a decent value. It does a decent job at combining traction with long life, and that is no small feat. For better performance, it would be best to look elsewhere.
