Tire: Primacy MXM4 ZP
Category: Grand Touring All-Season
UTQG (treadwear): 420 A A / 500 A A
The Primacy MXM4 ZP from Michelin is a pretty standard offering in the Grand Touring All-Season segment. It slots in the Michelin lineup slightly higher other similar tires in that it doesn't stand out in any one particular performance category, and can be purchased in sets or as a direct replacement for worn out tires of the same size. It is oftentimes found used as an Original Equipment (OE) tire for luxury and performance sedans. However, I would note that OE tires generally do not perform as well as replacement tires as they are made to get cars off the lot for the most part.
Drivers seem to be pretty pleased with the Primacy MXM4 ZP, which is not typically the case for OE tires. However in this instance, most have found them to be very adequate with good ride quality for the majority of driving conditions (snow traction is a bit lacking, which is not surprising). I have found these tires most often fitted to the Cadillac ATS and BMW 328/328, both of which are more performance oriented offerings from those car companies. Even though these tires haven't been on the market for a super long time, they have had their longevity tested and it appears that you can get about 45,000 miles out of a set, and that is about average for OE grand touring tires. But many others in the segment, non-OE tires, will give you longer life. Overall these appear to be a solid choice if you can get a good price on them, otherwise it might be worth looking at some of the other higher ranked options.
