This truck all-season radial tire from Kumho is a good all around choice for those drivers of trucks, SUVs, and crossovers looking for four season on road traction. The Kumho Ecsta STX KL12 has an aggressive tread with large tread blocks and exceptional grooves that help channel water towards the tire sides to get water out of the way. Internal to the tire, Kumho uses high tensile steel belts for rigidity and increase high speed durability. The results are a well rounded tire, but not one that is exceptional in snow, which is a common complaint of all season tires.
Drivers have a generally positive response to the Ecsta STX KL12 and most end up buying another set as replacements. I've seen these tires fitted to a variety of vehicles on the road, but I most often end up seeing them on light and medium duty SUVs. However I have seen them on half ton pickup trucks so long as they are kept on the road. For the performance category, this tire has good longevity and a lot of drivers get about 70,000 miles out of a set before they need to be replaced. Heavier vehicles will see fewer miles out of a set. So overall, this is a really solid tire. It doesn't exactly excel in any one particular performance metric, aside from dry traction, so don't expect to be running up snowy mountain passes on these with ease, but if you need a long life on road truck/SUV tire, I could easily recommend these to potential buyers.
