The Yokohama AVID S34FV is one of the numerous tires in the AVID lineup which has a focus on the passenger all-season segment of the market. This tire in particular is often found as an original equipment tire (OE) on a number of new cars found today. We mostly see it used on the Mazda3 and it seems to work well for that vehicle. The vast majority of OE tires do not have a lot of differentiation among them and generally are used just to get cars off the dealer lot. Hence you'll find this tire to not be anything to special in terms of it's performance. In fact, Yokohama mentions that this tire can be used as a replacement for other passenger all-season tires in the same size and can be used to replace worn out sets.
Drivers feel this tire is pretty mediocre in terms of it's performance. Most folks seem to get about 40,000 miles out of a set before needing to be replaced, which I would consider probably slightly below average in this OE tire segment. Winter traction has also been found to be sub par and a few drivers have noticed that these tires are fairly noisy. I would recommend going with a different tire in this performance segment over the AVID S34FV. I think there are numerous better options for the money that can be found towards the top of the list of our tire guide on the site.
