The Kumho Sense (codename: KR26) is a budget-oriented, grand touring all season style tire. It was developed for a wide range of vehicles and can be used on anything from sedans and hatchbacks, to even minivans. Kumho's main engineering goal here was to produce an affordable tire for family hauler duties. That means they placed their emphasis on ride comfort and fuel efficiency, rather than traction and stability. In order to achieve this balance, Kumho utilizes a symmetric tread design and their own Full Depth Sipe System to help with traction on wet roads.
Overall this isn't really the greatest tire on the market today in this performance category. Drivers have found it to be adequate under most circumstances, but it is very much lacking in terms of snow and ice performance. Within the grand touring all-season performance segment, it is very much a middle of the pack tire. The upside in buying a Kumho Sense is that you probably spent less money than you would on other tires. Not too many complaints about them, just that they don't deliver quite as as good performance as other competitors. Since these tires haven't been on the market for a long time, it's hard to say how long they'll last. We will update this review to reflect that information as it becomes available.
