Tire: SP Sport Signature
Category: High Performance All-Season
UTQG (treadwear): 460 AA A
The Dunlop SP Sport Signature (in this case, H or V speed rated) is one of the tires in the Sport Signature lineup for the company. It's a good offering from Dunlop and I'd rate it in the top 5 for the performance category. I'd say this tire is great for those drivers looking for a slightly more aggressive tire, yet still want something that is a bit more composed than the other tires in the more aggressive traction performance categories. Dunlop likes to pride itself on their Hydro-Paddle Technology, which forces water away from the tire to help guard against hydroplaning and overall increase wet weather traction. Dunlop could be phasing this tire out in favor of others in it's stable, at this point there are only about a half dozen sizes still available, so keep that in mind if you do decide to shop this tire.
Drivers overall are very positive on this tire. It combines a good amount of dry traction along with stability on wet roads. It is an all season tire, so it's rated for snow, but there are better high performance all-season tires on the market for snow. That would be the weak point of the SP Sport Signature. Most drivers seem to get around 70,000 miles out of set under good conditions. That's a decently high number considering the aggressive tread and handling you get. A few drivers have noted that this tire can get a little loud as it ages. Not uncommon, especially for more performance oriented tires. Considering that you can usually find these tires at a good price, these are probably one of the more cost effective solutions for people wanting a more sporty tire.
