Tire: Y372
Category: Passenger All-Season
UTQG (treadwear): Not rated
These Y372 tires from Yokohama are pretty generic tires that many car companies use as original equipment for their vehicles that come off the production line. The Y372 is used int this capacity often since it has a standard tread design and it can provide traction across all four seasons. You'll also find that if you have a flat that can't be repaired, tire shops might try to sell you this tire as a replacement since it will work well with other tires due to the non specific tread design and traditional tire compound. I wouldn't let all this generic talk fool you though, I really consider this tire to be very solid and it probably takes a top 5 position in the passenger all season tire segment. This is partly due to it's traction performance, but also that you can use this tire to replace a blow out or a worn out pair. Very versatile.
Even though this tire doesn't have a treadwear rating, it'll last a reasonably long time. Most drivers seem to get at least 50,000 miles out of a set, though on some lighter cars I wouldn't be surprised to see even more than that. It's a favorite among owners of smaller European sports cars, and also some vehicles in the subcompact segment here in the United States. You can find better traction and quality from other tires in this performance segment, but probably not at the typically lower cost that these tires slot in at.
