Tire: Grandtrek WT M3 ROF
Category: Light Truck/SUV Performance Winter / Snow
UTQG (treadwear): Not rated
The Dunlop Grandtrek WT M3 ROF (RunOnFlat), as I mentioned in my review of the original Grandtrek WT M3, has one of the best tire names on the market. This tire is the run flat version of that tire, and as such is very similar in how it performs. The main difference here is that this tire has been developed to be driven for 50 miles at 55 mph in the event of a puncture. As a winter light truck tire, this can be particularly helpful if you find yourself on a lot of backwoods roads or trails where you might get a flat. But since this is a "performance" winter tire, it is actually intended to provide your truck or SUV with better handling in winter conditions. These tires should only be installed in sets of four and they do meet the industry standard for severe snow service. This is more of a low volume tire compared to the original version, and I can't discern too many differences between the two tires. I think this run flat version will probably give you more road noise, but otherwise they are going to be pretty similar. So check out the review of that original tire to see how drivers like it. I think they're both solid tires for the price, it just depends on if you want the run flat ability or not.
