Tire: Blizzak LM-80 RFT
Category: Light Truck/SUV Performance Winter / Snow

The Blizzak LM-80 RFT is a specialized performance winter tire developed by Bridgestone for use as an original equipment tire on the 2014 Nissan Rouge. This tire is very interesting to me, and I've oftentimes wondered how many people are evening running it on their vehicle. It currently comes in a single 17" wheel size. This being a run flat tire, it will allow the vehicle to be driver for 50 miles at around 50 miles per hour in the event of a pressure loss. This tire has some great technology and it features Bridgestone's own 3G RFT Technology, which provides for nearly the same ride and handling as a conventional tire. It also features Lamellen edge effect where sipes are built multidirectionally to increase biting edges. The internal structure is very strong and was built to maintain shape in the event of a puncture. Since this tire is very new, we don't have a lot of data in terms of traction qualities and longevity. What I can say is that since this tire is in Blizzak lineup, it should prove to be an excellent winter tire just the same as other Blizzaks. I would anticipate getting around 40,000 miles out of a set, which is about average for this tire category.
