Tire: Primacy MXV4
Category: Grand Touring All-Season
UTQG (treadwear): 620 A A
The Michelin Primacy MXV4 is one of the workhorses in the Michelin lineup and is one of the more popular tires in this performance category. It also happens to get really good reviews from drivers, and we'll get to that later. It offers a good mix of quite ride, comfort and long tread life. So it's pretty much an all around tire. You'll even get some decent traction and performance in light snow. This tire combines a symmetric design with notched shoulders and independent tread blocks. All that allows the tire to have increased biting edges that improve wet weather traction.
If you've read other reviews on this site, you'll think that we've gone insane, but this tire will seriously give you over 100,000 miles of tread life. Some drivers have even got 120,000. Amazing really, and a lot of drivers note that you'll continue to have great tread throughout the life of the tire. I mean, you'll pay extra to put this tire on your vehicle, but you will get your moneys worth every time. You might notice an uptick in noise towards the end of the tire's life, but that's to be expected with such a long life tire. Don't worry, you can keep pushing it!
