Looking for an extremely well manufactured tire that will perform well in all weather conditions and get you better fuel economy? Then I'd really suggest looking at the Continental PureContact. This is a top 5, probably make that a top 3, tire in the performance category. It gets rave reviews from divers of all types of vehicles. It utilizes some special polymers called Tg-F and a +Silane additive that make sure the tire lasts a long time and gives better fuel efficiency. This EcoPlus technology is a big selling point, and it should be. Continental has spent a lot of research and design money on making this low rolling resistance tire, that also has great traction. It has chamfered tread block edges for great traction all while having an asymmetric tread design. This tire will work well in most conditions, up to and including light snow. So there is lots of cool tech here. I mean, there's more, but I gotta cut this part of the review off somewhere.
These tires are worth the premium price, that much is clear to me. And if you can find them on sale, great, you should not think about them twice. With such a high treadwear rating, you should expect these tires to go for over 75,000 miles. I've seen reports much higher than that, but that's a good starting number. I've heard reports from drivers that these tires do get a little loud with age though, and that's partly due to the advance tread design. So if there is one knock, it's on the quietness side of the equation.
