Tire: Baja T/A
Category: Off-Road Maximum Traction
UTQG (treadwear): Not rated
This tire is a real beast, and BFGoodrich has put a ton of research and development into it, making the Baja T/A the tire chosen by more Baja 1000 champions than any other tire. That's really saying something there. This tire has some cool technology too, including self-cleaning symmetrical tread, bruise resistance and sidewall puncture resistance. They have a M+S rating and will deal with deep snow pretty easily.
Even though these are off-road tires, they do have decent on-road ability. So if you find yourself on paved roads on a regular basis, don't let that stop you from taking at look at these. The only drawback is that most drivers do report that these are a bit on the noisy side when compared to other off-road tires. Certainly makes sense to me, I mean that have tremendous grip and I'll take a little more noise to know that I can drive on pretty much any terrain. Another good aspect about these tires is that they have good treadwear for the category. Drivers have reported getting about 50,000 miles before needing to replace them.
