Tire: Potenza RE011
Category: Ultra High Performance Summer
UTQG (treadwear): 140 A A
Seems like a lot of these Ultra High Performance Summer tires from Bridgestone are really similar, but in this instance I can easily say that this is a special case. This is one of the worst reviewed tires I have come into contact with. I can't really say why that is though, it looks like most others from Bridgestone at least to the naked eye, but in real life it performs much worse on the track and the street. The treadwear rating is pretty low, but it even seems to miss the mark on that as well. I've noted other tires that even with their low UTQG rating, drivers still seem to get a lot of miles out of a set, but this is an instance where the tire under performs it's rating by a huge amount. Being a summer only tire, Bridgestone recommends that you stay away from near freezing temperatures, and any snow or ice.
Most drivers are not impressed with this tire considering what performance category its under. The most mileage I've seen out of a set has been around 25,000 miles, which is very poor for the price you'll pay. Nobody should have to buy new tires that often unless they are running around on drag slicks. Overall traction is just ok at the track and during prime summer driving season. Outside of those two things, watch out. Drivers also tend to report a lot of road noise from these as well, not from the get go, but after around 15,000 miles are so. If you are looking in this performance category, I'd suggest heading to another tire from Bridgestone. There are so many to choose from, and I really can't recommend these.
