Tire: Ecopia EP100
Category: Grand Touring Summer
UTQG (treadwear): 400 A A / 400 A B
This tire is part of the Bridgestone tire family that is dedicated to helping vehicles reduce their CO2 emissions and improve fuel economy. It does this by using a low rolling resistance tread compound that doesn't compromise the tire's ability to hold the road. This is a bit of a niche tire, as right now it is only available in two sizes, however it is suitable to be used on any vehicle it fits. As with all other summer tires, they are not meant to be driven at near freezing temperatures, or on snow/ice.
Most drivers seem to notice that this is a really quite tire, so if you're looking to reduce road noise in your vehicle, this is definitely a worthwhile tire to look at. More importantly (at least to me), is that drivers also report getting about a 10-15% fuel economy bump when using this tires. Which means if you're roughly getting 400 miles per tank out of your current set of tires, you could switch to these and potentially see upwards of 450 miles per tank. It seems most likely that these tires will give you about a 40,000 mile life, which isn't quite as long as other tires in the category, but it might be worth it for the fuel savings and less road noise.
