As part of the Blizzak winter tire series from Bridgestone, the LM-25 RFT are manufactured to be a performance tire, that is able to be driven during winter driving conditions including snow and ice. This tire is has been designed exclusively for the BWZ Z-4, all BMW sedans on the market, and the Nissan GT-R. Although it can be fitted to any light vehicle with the appropriate rim. This tire only comes in a few sizes, so keep that in mind when shopping around. Just with all the other winter tires on the market, Bridgestone recommends that you only purchase these tires in sets of 4. Also worth pointing out here, is that this is a run flat tire, which means you can drive it for about 50 miles after a puncture.
Unlike the other Blizzak tires, the LM-25 RFT uses a different tread compound to achieve a higher speed rating. Normally, you wouldn't want to run your winter tires at too high of a speed because the tread compound isn't designed to take that kind of heat and pressure. However, for performance vehicles, they created this tire that allows drivers to achieve much higher speeds safely. Due to the aggressiveness of these tires, don't expect to get too many miles out of them compared to other snow/winter tires. Most drivers report getting about 20,000 miles out of a set before they are too worn out to provide proper traction. If you don't own a sports car and want winter tires, I would suggest looking at other tires on the market.
