Tire: g-Force T/A KDW 2
Category: Ultra High Performance Summer
UTQG (treadwear): 300 AA A
As you might imagine, the g-Force T/A KDW 2 is really similar to the g-Force T/A KDW that I have also reviewed. The "2" here denotes that this is the second generation tire, and what that really means is that this tire comes in more sizes than just for a 20" wheel. Otherwise, for all practical purposes, it is quite nearly the same tire. I'm guessing in shopping for tires for the vast majority of vehicles, the original KDW won't even show up, where the KDW 2 will have numerous size options. As mentioned in the review, this tire is not intended to be used near freezing temperatures, or driven on ice/snow.
I won't rewrite what I have written for the original KDW, so please head over there to check out some of the finer points about this tire. In summary though, this tire has been designed for high horsepower vehicles. 'Nuf said. I will say though, even though the treadwear rating is the same as the original KDW, the KDW 2 seems to have better life. There are many many reports of drivers getting over 30,000 on a set of these tires. This appears to be a huge improvement over the original design. I actually found it a little hard to recommend the original in the face of other offerings from BFGoodrich, but the revised design of the KDW 2 appears to have resulted in much better treadwear, without sacrificing performance.
